Guests at Breakers Oceanfront Resort have a wide selection of holiday shows to choose from, but none are as legendary as the Ultimate Christmas Spectacular at Legends in Concert in Myrtle Beach.
A recipient of the TripAdvisor Excellence Award for three years running, Legends in Concert is world renowned for bringing famous artists back from the past with spot-on tribute artists performing.
While Legends in Concert offers tributes to late, great entertainers like Frank Sinatra, Michael Jackson and Marilyn Monroe on a year-round basis, the Broadway at the Beach theater pulls out all the stops to produce a holiday show that will leave audiences star-struck. The nightly lineup of tribute artists portraying big-name stars while performing Christmas classics is a holiday tradition.
Although each year's show is updated to keep repeat visitors on their toes, there are a few standard acts that make annual appearances to the delight of crowds new and old. For instance, Elvis Presley is a sure-fire hit with top impersonators delivering The King's rendition of his holiday hits, including “Santa Bring My Baby Back To Me” and “(There'll Be) Peace in the Valley.”
Other tribute artists include Nat King Cole (“The Christmas Song,” “O Holy Night”), Dolly Parton (“Hard Candy Christmas, “The Greatest Gift Of All”) and Rod Stewart (“Merry Christmas, Baby”, “Red Suited Super Man”, just to name a few. The Blues Brothers, made famous by John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd as Jake and Elwood, provide some comedic relief with their number “A Blues Brothers Christmas.”
The Legends in Concert house band will perform a tribute to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra (“Christmas Eve in Sarajevo”, “Carol of the Bells”), and the popular Legends Dancers get the house on their feet with some awesome routines. The show closes with a medley of performers joining forces on holiday favorites “Oh Holy Night” and “Joy To the World” as the crowd chimes in on the grand finale.
Located at Broadway at the Beach, Legends in Concert offers family-friendly entertainment in a state-of-the-art setting. Surrounded by attractions, shops, restaurants and nightlife, the theater's unique location allows families and friends to enjoy an evening out for a holiday celebration. The shows run six days a week from Nov. through Dec. 30, followed by the big New Year's Eve extravaganza.
Looking for something a little different in a holiday show? Be sure to check out other Grand Strand area shows like the Alabama Theatre's “The South's Grandest Christmas Show”, The Carolina Opry's popular “Christmas Show of the South”, GTS Theatre's “Crazy Country Christmas – A Dixie Redneck Style Variety Show” and “Motown Christmas Tribute” and Pirates Voyage's “A Pirates Christmas.”
