Tradition and progression:
They both make Myrtle Beach a wonderful place to visit.
Myrtle Beach State Park, Hopsewee Plantation, and Captain Juel’s Hurricane are mainstays worth keeping on your itinerary every single trip. Hitting the outlet stores and the golf links, and, of course, those wide, inviting Myrtle Beach beaches could also fill an entire getaway.
Lots of Myrtle Beach is new, too. A master plan for revitalization keyed on four districts: The Arts District, Historic Main Street, Kings Highway, and Oceanfront. New development here is destined to become those old standards for the next generation.
As you pack up and gear up for the coast, here are new attractions for 2020 you’re going to want to check out.
Community Arts Center and Brewery
Local brews and food are coming to the building fronting Nance Plaza. Grand Strand Brewing Company, a new microbrewery, will release a handful of handmade beers for the taproom. Local chefs can use commercial kitchen space there to create food for a perfect pairing.
The top floor will become the Makers Exchange. This creative space will host art exhibits, community events, weddings and more in two flexible conference rooms. The two-story, brick-construction building is on the national historic registry.
The Carolina Opry Theater
No, it’s not new – but it’s celebrating 35 years in Myrtle Beach in 2020 with new cast members for variety shows at the historic venue. Traditional shows such as The Carolina Opry, Pure Magic and Time Warp Show will run along with a strong lineup of celebrity concerts.
Myrtle Beach Bowl
It’ll be worth the wait until December! In the most anticipated football development since Coastal Carolina University debuted its program in 2003, Brooks Stadium will host a postseason game featuring Conference USA, Mid-America Conference and the Sun Belt.
New trampoline parks
Get your bounce on at the beach in two new spots. Although no firm date is set, Big Air Myrtle Beach and Flip N Fly Myrtle Beach plan to open Grand Strand locations this year. The fun comes at you nonstop with trampolines, soft-play areas, ninja courses, and climbing walls.
No two Myrtle Beach getaways are exactly alike, even if it’s the same people taking them. That’s because there’s always a great blend of standard fun and new adventures awaiting you here. For your next trip here, be sure to add these new attractions to your plans.
