6 Fabulous Fall Drinks to Order at Starbucks

When considering the hallmarks of fall in 21st century America, some of the first things that might spring to most people’s minds include cooler temperatures, changing leaves, harvest festivals and tailgating. But many caffeinated beverage lovers might add another hot item to the list of America’s quintessentially autumn traditions: pumpkin spice lattes at the nation’s top coffeehouse — Starbucks.

Of course, the list of fall drinks at Starbucks doesn’t stop with the renowned pumpkin spice latte. As any barista can tell you, there are plenty more perfect-for-autumn options to explore on the famed coffee joint’s beverage menu. So, the next time you visit The Breakers Resort in Myrtle Beach during the fall, be sure to visit the on-site Starbucks for one of these six totally fit-for-the-fall belly-warmers:

Salted Caramel Mocha —

Coffee lovers with a sweet tooth are sure to fancy this delectable offering, which sees coffee and steamed milk sweetened up with velvety mocha sauce and toffee nut syrup. All of this is then topped off with sweetened whipped cream, a caramel drizzle and — an available-only-in-the-fall topper — a turbinado sugar/sea salt blend.

Caramel Apple Spice —

Few things say fall like a hot apple cider — or a caramel apple, for that matter. And this Starbucks offering puts a twist on both fall favorites by starting with a base of steamed apple juice, which gets jazzed up with cinnamon syrup and whipped cream. All of this is then topped with a caramel sauce drizzle to seal the abundantly autumn deal.

Chai Tea Latte —

This one’s available all year at Starbucks, but it’s an especially appropriate order when served hot on a cool fall day. It all starts with black tea infused with a selection of warming spices that includes cinnamon and clove. This is all mixed with steamed milk, then topped with foam to create a hot drink that goes down great when the temperatures begin to dip.

Apple Chai —

This one’s something of an insider’s secret, but you can get one with an in-the-know order. Originally conceived by a customer, the Apple Chai starts with the same chai base found in the Chai Tea Latte outlined above, but the steamed milk in the original drink is replaced with steamed apple juice. It gives the hot drink an altogether new flavor profile — and the creative concoction is a perfect fit for the fall.

Pumpkin Spice Hot Chocolate —

This one doesn’t officially appear on the Starbucks menu, either, but your barista will likely be glad to whip one up for you if asked, as it involves just a slight modification to the chain’s traditional hot chocolate. It all starts with the hot chocolate base, which Starbucks creates by mixing steamed milk and mocha sauce. But before the whipped cream and chocolate drizzle are added on top, this one gets a special seasonal add-in — the celebrated pumpkin spice mix consisting of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg and clove.

Cinnamon Dolce Latte —

Cinnamon may be a staple of autumn beverages, but at Starbucks, it can be found in some drinks year-round — and this one is among the best of them. A great way to warm up on a crisp fall day, the Cinnamon Dolce Latte features the coffee chain’s classic espresso, which gets fresh steamed milk and cinnamon dolce-flavored syrup added in. It’s all then topped with sweetened whipped cream and a generous sprinkling of cinnamon dolce topping.
