Three Great Places for Mother’s Day Brunch in Myrtle Beach

There's no way to repay dear ol' mom for all her home-cooking over the years, so you have to make your make-up meals count - great food, excellent service and no dishes.

The Grand Strand has you covered on Mother's Day with plenty of options that fit that bill. In addition to all the great restaurants in Myrtle Beach serving their regular menus, some are holding a special Mother's Day brunch to help you repay mom with two meals in one.

Two bits of advice: Make reservations so mom doesn't have to stand in her Sunday shoes before being seated, and wear something nice and clean. Here are three places your mother will love, and she will love you even more for taking her:

* House of Blues: The Sunday Gospel Brunch is the mother of all brunches on the Grand Strand, serving both the stomach and the soul. Featuring great Southern and Cajun cuisine to the soulful sounds of a full gospel choir, guests can feast on made-to-order omelets, fried chicken, peel-and-eat shrimp, country ham and biscuits and more. To add to an already bountiful buffet and the uplifting live music, HOB is chipping in a free gift certificate to a local spa so all mothers can get a little extra pampering on their special day.

* Chestnut Hill: This Restaurant Row establishment is famous for its Sunday brunch, and Chestnut Hill goes the extra mile for Mother's Day. In addition to the regular spread, a carving station featuring ham, roast beef and turkey accompanies fresh local shrimp and oysters fried chicken, seafood gumbo, corned beef hash, grits and breakfast staples, such as fresh fruit and Eggs Benedict. The dessert table is too lengthy to list but not to sample.

* Croissants: One of the best Sunday brunches in Myrtle Beach does a little something extra for moms on Mother's Day, including free bellini from the in-house bakery. She might want to get it to go because the Croissants' brunch menu is a true feast. Made-to-order omelets and crepes and the house special Carolina Hash with BBQ pork, eggs, potatoes and peppers highlight the breakfast fare, while a long list of soups, salads and sandwiches, like the Turkey Pretzel Club  and the Crab Cake Sandwich, are among the lunch offerings.
