Family Kingdom Myrtle Beach reigns in fun for everyone

Family Kingdom has the unique distinction of being the only seaside amusement park in Myrtle Beach.

It lives on Ocean Boulevard, the part of Myrtle Beach’s heart that beats the loudest.

Here, on Ocean Boulevard, the feet of 14 million tourists and countless locals go to and fro on a stretch of street lined with countless hotels, dine-in restaurants, carnival food, beach bodies, flip flop wearers, police officers on bikes and the incessant, indecipherable chatter threatening to drown out the crashing waves pounding the shore.

This is where you will find Family Kingdom. It is steadfastly fixed at 3000 South Ocean Blvd., where the under 21 crowd enjoy energetic chitchat as mothers and fathers frantically push strollers pass them at record paces.

Yes, it is here where families find the kingdom of Myrtle Beach amusements parks.

Family Kingdom has personality that pops. It isn’t a fancy attraction, although it certainly isn’t dowdy either. What it is, assuredly, is an attraction now often missing from America. Its charm, cuteness and down-home quaint character is appealing to the eyes and comforting to the soul. This is what family fun used to be like when much of the nation’s focus was more altruistic and folks in our communities took pride in welcoming new neighbors with potluck dinners, firm handshakes and warm smiles.

Therefore, guests of the 70-year-old Breakers Resort, one of Myrtle Beach’s premier accommodations, will truly be pleased with Family Kingdom’s fun and all the nostalgia attached to it.

Here, babies and baby boomers will discover the joy of more than 30 rides, yummy finger food and timeless carnival games.

Some of the fun, via rides, they will encounter, include the following:

Log Flume: This is a rollercoaster slides and glides through water for one cool, wet and exciting ride. Make sure to bring an extra change of clothes because you will get soaked.

Galleon: A high-flying pirate ship that swings back and forth like a pendulum while you scream in joy or sheer fright.

Hurricane: Take a rollercoaster out of the air and place it on a track on the ground. What you get is a ride that really rocks and shakes you up a bit. However, you will love ruffling your feathers on this ride.

Swamp Fox Roller Coaster: This is the way your great grandparents rode – on a rollercoaster made of wood. It isn’t polished like the roller coasters at those famous amusement parks in Florida, but you will get enough thrills to make you squeal or yell in delight.

Bumper cars and go-kart tracks are also at Family Kingdom.

Plus, you will find plenty of food stands and games to keep you and your family filled up and entertained for hours without a dull moment.

Of course, Family Kingdom is also royalty because it has an accompanying water park. That’s right. Just walk across the street from the amusement park and you can explore a new adventure that features speed slides, water flumes, a lazy river and more.

Here, at Family Kingdom, no matter which side of Ocean Boulevard you are on, you will discover amusement ideal for practically any day.
