Breakers Resort and Beyond

Located at the junction of 21st Avenue North and Ocean Boulevard in downtown Myrtle Beach, The Breakers Resort is ideally situated for guests looking to venture off the property.

Close enough to walk, hike or bike to many of Myrtle Beach’s top attractions, The Breakers Resort give guests the best of both worlds – outstanding accommodations and amenities on-site and great dining, shopping and attractions just beyond your front door. Here are some popular spots in the neighborhood:

Dining: Look no farther than next door for one of the hottest spots on the Grand Strand. Bummz Beach Café, featuring a large oceanfront patio and back yard that abuts the beach, is a popular gather ing spot for lunch and live music every day, and dinner, where beach casual meets good eats. Across Ocean Drive is Lulu’s Café, an eclectic breakfast and lunch café with creative dishes and desserts. Other excellent restaurants within a short walk are Soho, Dirty Don’s Oyster Shack and River City Café.

Attractions: The recently extended Myrtle Beach Boardwalk, a 1.2-mile walkway that parallels the beach, is only two blocks away from the Breakers Resort and offers easy access to all the top attractions in downtown, such as the Myrtle Beach SkyWheel, Pier 14 and Second Avenue Pier. Broadway at the Beach is a straight shot up 21st Avenue North about a mile away, a bit long for a walk but easily accessible by bike or vehicle.

Nightlife: Just a short stroll down the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk will take you to some of Myrtle Beach’s most famous and popular hangouts. Check out The Bowery, a honkytonk institution on the Boulevard where country-music super group Alabama got its start. The Oceanfront Grill, Sharkey’s, Eighth Avenue Bar & Grill and Bandito’s are great places to let the good times roll. Free concerts and fireworks displays are held throughout the summer months at Plyler Park.

Shopping: Ocean Boulevard is lined with souvenir shops and T-shirt stands, but there are lots of shopping centers within a short drive of The Breakers. Broadway at the Beach, Coastal Grand Mall, Market Common and Myrtle Beach Mall are popular spots for shopping for nicer items, while retail stores like Dollar general and Kmart are close by for picking up necessities.
