The Breakers Resorts’ eateries offer a diversity of choices

The Breakers Resort, however, is much more than a vacation haven with snazzy suites and condos, views of the Atlantic Ocean and pools. The resort is also a space serving as the abode to five food establishments: Papa’s, Market Restaurant, The Red Parrot Café, Starbucks and Ben and Jerry’s.

Each in its own right appeals to the foodie personalities residing in each of its guests. There is something guests will enjoy at one, if not all, of the resort’s eateries. And they don’t have to worry about getting in their rides and driving to enjoy everything from lattes to shrimp. All the food and fun is just steps away.

Papa’s is the place where resort guests come when they crave a down-home, country breakfast. Regardless of the season, guests can get grits, eggs, sausage, bacon, fresh fruit, waffles (made by the guest themselves) and other breakfast favorites.

“At Papa’s, we have the best breakfast buffet on Ocean Boulevard,” said J.R. McGinnis, front desk manager at The Breakers Resort. “My favorite is probably the eggs and bacon. The bacon is good and crispy.”

With a seating capacity of about 300, Papa’s has plenty of room to relax and enjoy the delicious assortment of breakfast items.

The Market Restaurant, located in The Boutique North Tower, serves a continental breakfast for guests that include fruit, yogurt, cottage cheese, boiled eggs, muffins, bagels, oatmeal and cereal.

The Red Parrot Café, located in the Palmetto Tower, is where people go daily for lunch and dinner.

“There is a diversity of food in there,” McGinnis said. “There are burgers, chicken dishes and seafood. The atmosphere is very nice. It’s kind of got a sports bar feel to it.”

The eatery has windows that open to a spectacular ocean view. Nevertheless, it is the food that keeps patrons faithfully coming back to the Red Parrot.

“(It is) the best restaurant in Myrtle Beach,” said Caitlin Juszcky of Red Parrot via the resort’s Facebook page. “We stay at the North Tower, and I think last year e ate at the Red Parrot five times, almost everyday.”

Ben & Jerry’s became a part of The Breakers in the summer of 2012.

Ben & Jerry’s ice cream “Scoop Shop” features high-in-calories temptations too hard to resist, including Chunky Monkey, New York Super Fudge Chunk, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Butter Pecan, Chocolate Fudge Brownie, Cherry Garcia and Oatmeal Cookie Chunk. Of course, there are also a variety of sundaes, beverages and “Legendiary Shakes.”

Starbucks, of course, is where America goes to get potent doses of coffee served up in sweet, savory, icy and frothy ways.

Located in the Paradise Tower of The Breakers Resort, Starbucks features oven-warmed food, its ridiculously flavored hot and cold beverages like the Caramel Macchiato, sandwiches (breakfast and lunch), desserts and more.

From coffee, grits and gourmet sandwiches to salads and seafood, The Breakers Resort is a place that speaks to the unique tastes of its guests.
