Our Breakers Resort guests love Ultimate California Pizza. There’s one located just a half mile up the road, and it dishes up some of the best pizza, subs, pasta, salads and wings at the beach!
With six locations along the Grand Strand, there’s likely one near you wherever you are, form North Myrtle Beach’s Barefoot Landing to Garden City/Murrells Inlet. One of our favorite pizzas is the Golden Hawaiian, which comes with smoked ham, mozzarella and pineapple, as well as a sprinkling of green onions, provolone, chopped dates and coconut.
Well, the Hawaiian or the Hollywood, a meat-tastic pile of pepperoni, ham, ground beef and two types of sausage. Yum!
One menu item that’s particularly addictive is the hot artichoke dip. Cheesy and bubbling from the oven and served with crispy tortilla chips, it’s simply craveable. And we know you think about your favorite beach treats sometimes when you’re not on vacation in Myrtle Beach. So we tracked down the artichoke dip recipe, and we’re sharing it with you so you can recreate a little piece of your last trip to the beach, even if you’re at home.
The following recipe makes about one quart:
Ultimate California Pizza Hot Artichoke Dip
1 ½ cups mayonnaise
¾ cup diced green (Anaheim) chilies
1 ½ cups artichoke hearts, chopped and drained well
1 cup grated parmesan cheese
4 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
1 tbl plus 1 tsp fresh lemon juice
1 tsp black pepper
½ tsp salt
Preheat oven to 375. Combine ingredients in bowl. Stir well to blend.
Portion into oven-safe ramekin. Heat in oven until bubbly – time will vary depending on container from 15 to 30 minutes or more.
Serve with tortilla chips for dipping.
