Want to do something special for your sweetheart this Valentine’s Day? Look no further than Myrtle Beach and the Breakers Resort for the ideal romantic getaway. With excellent accommodations and amenities for couples, Breakers offers a great setting for a Valentine’s weekend retreat. And if you want to do something special to blow your Valentine date away, here are five of our favorite ways to spend the day with the one you love in Myrtle Beach:

  1. Barefoot Princess: Romance is in the air and on the water at the Barefoot Princess Riverboat Tour Company, which offers a special Valentine Sweetheart Cruise on Saturday, Feb. 13. Hop aboard the riverboat at Barefoot Landing at 5:45 p.m., just in time to catch a breathtaking sunset over the Intracoastal Waterway while you and your loved one set sail for the 2-hour cruise. Enjoy a prime rib feast that includes chocolate sweethearts for dessert and dance to live music for a memorable Valentine's date on the water.

  2. Brookgreen Gardens: There's no more romantic place on the Grand Strand than this 9,000-acre botanical sculpture garden in Murrells Inlet. Located on a former rice plantation, Brookgreen is the oldest and first sculpture garden of its kind on the East Coast. Featuring beautiful plants and sculptures in a scenic Lowcountry setting, this is a great place to hold hands and go for a stroll. On Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 13-14, Brookgreen is offering its Winter Tea Party at 4 p.m. in the Pavilion Restaurant, where you can enjoy delicious desserts and hot drinks with an incredible view of the gardens at night.

  3. Dinner: The traditional Valentine's Day dinner may sound cliché, but the Grand Strand has a wide selection of eateries where you can take your date for a unique and romantic dining experience. For more formal affairs, five-star restaurants like 21 Main, The Brentwood House, and The Library are can't-miss establishments with impeccable food and service. More casual and adventurous eateries include The Melting Pot fondue restaurants, Rioz Brazilian Steakhouse and Mr. Fish seafood and sushi. For couples who want to stay close to the resort, Breakers offers excellent food and atmosphere on-site at Papa's and the Rusty Reel.

  4. SkyWheel: Perhaps the most romantic place in Myrtle Beach is exactly 190 feet above ground. That's the pinnacle of the SkyWheel, which offers romantic views of the Atlantic Ocean and the downtown district of Myrtle Beach. This has become a popular spot for grooms-to-be to pop the question, or to take a souvenir selfie of the happy couple in midair. VIP gondolas available for a longer ride and some private time, and a special Valentine's Day package includes flowers, candies and other perks that will score you points with your loved one.

  5. Walk on the Beach: Sometimes the most romantic gifts are free, and such is the case with the time-tested, romantic stroll on the beach at night. Something about the sounds of the crashing waves and the cool waters of the surf on your feet creates the perfect romantic mood. If the weather has other plans, feel free to take a walk on the beach during the daytime before your big night out on the town.

Guests at the Breakers Myrtle Beach Resort only have to take a few steps from their room to the beach, so you have no excuse for skipping out on a stroll to the beach. Except, of course, a warm and comfortable room where you can look out over the ocean from your private balcony. Now that's the perfect way to spoil your sweetheart this Valentine's Day.
