Finding Santa Claus on the Grand Strand Sand

There's a little known secret about Santa Claus we will let you in on. When he's not micromanaging elves at the toy shop back at the North Pole or making a whirlwind toy delivery trip around the world, Santa likes to chill-lax in Myrtle Beach, especially this time of year when he needs time to unwind before checking that naughty-or-nice list not once, but twice. During your holiday stay at the Breakers, set out and see if you can catch Santa at some of his favorite Myrtle Beach stops:

Breakfast With Santa: Santa loves pancakes, and he needs to load up on carbs before loading up the sleigh on Christmas Eve. That's why he is inviting visitors to join him for the most important meal of the day, join him at the Children’s Museum of South Carolina on Dec. 23.

Shopping Centers: Santa makes cameo appearances at all the major shopping malls, outlet stores and big-box chains on the Grand Strand, including retail hot spots like Barefoot Landing, Broadway at the Beach, Coastal Grand Mall, Inlet Square Mall and Market Common. One of the most popular places is Bass Pro Shop's Santa's Wonderland display at Myrtle Beach Mall. Other good places to spot Santa include the Holidays on the Boardwalk festival (through-Jan. 2) and the Christmas Wonderland at the North Myrtle Beach Sports and Recreation Complex (Nov. 26-Dec. 31).

If you can’t find time to find Santa at his scheduled gigs, keep an eye out for him at the Breakers Myrtle Beach Resort, his winter home away from home. You might even see him relaxing in the hot tub or having ice cream at our onsite Ben and Jerry’s. Just make sure you stay off his naughty list.
